A second cloud source, same rules: read-only, your folders as you keep them. Nearly ready — it lands shortly after the beta settles.
The most-requested source is on the map. It needs an extra security review on Google’s side, so it follows Dropbox.
Premium sync: pause on your phone, and your tablet knows exactly where you are — with a gentle “your other device was further — jump?” nudge, never a forced move.
A Premium extra: books without embedded artwork get their covers looked up automatically — with a “wrong cover? fix it” escape hatch, and never overwriting art your files already have.

iPhone: after you sign up below, you’ll get an email invitation from TestFlight (Apple’s beta app). Install the free TestFlight app from the App Store, open the invitation, and tap Install — Empiplayer appears on your home screen like any other app.
Android: you’ll get a link to join the test on Google Play. Open it, accept, and install Empiplayer straight from the Play Store. One catch: the invitation only works for the exact Google account signed into the Play Store on your phone — that’s why we ask for that specific Gmail address in the form.
Updates arrive automatically through TestFlight / Play while the beta runs.

On first launch, Empiplayer asks where your audiobooks live:
Your folders appear exactly as you arranged them — Empiplayer never reshuffles your library into “albums” or “artists”. Star a folder to pin it to the top of Home.
This is the heart of Empiplayer. For every file it quietly records:
Empiplayer marks a book finished when less than 30 seconds — or less than 1% — remain. You can also mark anything finished or unplayed yourself, or reset its progress completely.
Any cloud file or folder can be downloaded to the phone — look for the download action on the row. Each file shows whether it’s stream-only, downloading (with progress), or downloaded.
Downloads happen on Wi-Fi only by default (switchable in settings). Downloaded books play with no internet at all. Deleting a download never touches the original in your cloud.
Your listening memory lives on your phone — Empiplayer doesn’t upload it anywhere. To protect it, export a backup file from settings now and then and keep it wherever you like (your OneDrive is a fine spot — you place it there yourself).
On a new phone or after a reinstall, import that file and every position, played segment and bookmark is back. Even without a backup, a re-connected file is recognized by its content, not its location — moving or re-downloading a book never loses its progress.
Does Empiplayer ever change my files or my cloud? No. Access is read-only by design — it can’t upload, move, rename or delete anything, ever.
Does it work with Audible? No. Audible books are locked with DRM. Empiplayer plays the files you own outright: mp3, m4a/m4b, flac, ogg, opus, wav.
Do I need an account? No. There’s nothing to register. An account only becomes a thing later, if you opt into Premium cross-device sync.
What does it cost? The beta is free. Empiplayer will stay free for everyday listening (full player, one cloud source); a Premium subscription later adds extras like more cloud sources, sync and the additional color schemes.
What language does the app speak? English and Hungarian — it follows your phone’s language automatically, and you can switch it in settings.
